Sheila Fleet Jewellery
Sheila Fleet is a Scottish jewellery designer. She is a graduate from the Edinburgh College of Art, and has worked for 26 years as a designer in the industry before she set up on her own jewellery design shop in 1993. Sheila Fleet is very passionate about her home islands, and her designs are heavily influenced by natures bounty ñ the sea, sky and landscape. She also draws inspiration from Orkneys history and folklore. Designer bangles, bracelets, brooches, cufflinks, earrings, necklets, pendants and rings form part of her collections. Sheila Fleets designs are recognized for her unique collectable Northern style, which is seen by some as Scandinavian in influence; this may be so as the Orkney Islands were once linked historically and geographically to Scandinavia. Each design carries Sheilas origination makers punch mark, SD (Sheila Dearness being her maiden name). All pieces of jewellery that require a hallmark are independently marked for fineness and are assayed at Edinburgh Assay Office. Each and every piece of jewellery designed by Sheila Fleet is encased in a box and comes with a design origination card. The research and inspirations behind each collection is posted on the collection pages in her website. All boxed jewellery also comes with this information. Sheila Fleet has won many jewellery design awards in her career in Britain and Europe.
