1913-2006 Oleg Cassini worked as a designer in New York City before moving to Hollywood in 1940 where he designed costumes for 20th Century Fox and also met his wife, the actress Gene Tierney. In the early 50s he returned to New York to design under his own name.
Due to his fashion collaboration with American First Lady Jaqueline Kennedy he was known as the "Couturier to Camelot,". In the mid 60s due to his growing cachet, he licensed his name to a number of accessory lines to include hosiery, lingerie and costume jewellery. He died in March, 2006
